I see visions of the body of Christ in unity where denominations worship in one accord, where churches become the church, where love is lived out in full expression among believers. And that being the culmination of believers added to our numbers daily, just as in Acts.
I see what part I have to play in this vision being fulfilled is. What do you see for yourself as a Christian? What passions, desires, plans, and pursuits has God laid on your heart? It has been declared in the bod of Christ that this a year of new beginnings. God has planted inside each of his children a heart to fulfill something. All of us have a part to play in the perfect plan of God. What’s your part?
Many of you may be saying, “that’s what I want you to tell me!” Or maybe you have a dream but it seems so far out of the realm of possible that you’ve let it die. I am here to tell you, that God has already told you what you are to do. He gives you the impossible to do because it is only through him that it can be done.
Your role in the plan of God is to seek him.
“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
Hebrews 11:6
We read this scripture and often highlight that we must have faith to please God. Yes, that is so, and we must believe that he is the rewarder of those who seek him.
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Matthew 6:33
Seek him first. Who is the first person you speak to in the morning? When you don’t know something or need to make a decision, where is the first place you look?
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
Psalms 91:1
To live in the secret place of the Almighty God is to be in a constant state of seeking. When your in the secret place, the enemy can’t see you, he can’t be there. He may shoot wild arrows hoping to hit something, but when you’re in the secret place you’ve got your shield of faith up and they can’t hit you.
Jesus said ““Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”
Matthew 7:7-8
That sounds like a clear promise to me. When you seek you will find.
Well what does it look like to seek God?
Strong’s definitions include seeking to mean to worship, desire, endeavor, enquire, and require. Worship him, desire him, endeavor to be like him, enquire of him, require him. That’s what seeking is. That’s part, the first part, of living a life in Christ. That is the primary purpose of your existence.
When you do the seeking, all the rest will be revealed, for the promise of Jesus is that you will find when you seek and our faith must be planted in the truth that God is the rewarder of those who diligently seek him.
Today, instead of talking scrolling through Pinterest for two hours, seek the face of Jesus. He is more beautiful, more creative, and more lovely than anything you could imagine or the contributors could imagine!
Your blogs are such a blessing to me. Love you.
